Suggestions - Questions - Likes - Dislikes -

Ok, guys if you get the chance please post your likes - dislikes - suggestions - questions about this forum. It is only a month or two old. Guess what TWC started the very same way. By no means am I saying that this site will ever be as popular as TWC but it can be a success. Believe it or not there are a few development forums on here that everyone can't see and they are relatively active with development. The slow areas are the public forum. We need a catch, something TWC doesn't offer. Now I have had a few suggestions and they are appreciated. Myself i knew this would be an uphill battle. I really like supporting mod teams as I am a modder. If that is all this forum will ever be that is fine with me. I also enjoy creating a environment that people will enjoy checking out and participating in. So if you have suggestions or want to kill me or this forum for something that sucks well thats is cool too. I don't take anything personnel. This is the internet. Hell rip me a new asshole and it doesn't really make a shit to me. lol If there is something you like about the forum speak up and maybe we can build on it. If it is crap then we can improve it. If I don't get anything from you guys then I can't do anything.

1. Whats the point in coming here if no one else is? - Well I guess that is a tough one. Maybe I should have recruited some people that wanted to help me build this place up a bit before I went public? I guess its too late now.

2. what about a name change? - Too what exactly? Mod Realms was pretty popular so maybe something moving away from SS alittle? Modding Central? SS Mod Fourm? I think if the public forums never take off I might close them, concentrate only on mod development and change the name. For now I think it will stay the same unless I get a great suggestion that really makes since.

The name could be changed slighly. People might be a bit hesitant to come here because they think it's only about SS.

Could call it Brighton Seafront - a place where mods used to go to have fun!

I like the use of the word Forge in the name.

Mount & Blade would be another great game to include. Very moddable. And lots of people mod Oblivion too.

I would like to keep stainless steel in the title but it doesn't seem that the SS community will be enough to support this forum....

You should change the dark background color to something comfortable for reading.
The dark black color can make people less interested.

Yes I know Hrobatos, off shot forums from TWC just don't survive. I created this place on a whim when TWC was down for 3 or 4 days. I know the odds of it surviving is next to 0. That is why I opened it up to mod teams. I'm sure once your mod gets a forum on TWC you will not come here either. Now what can I offer that TWC doesn't? Well development forums for mod projects. I have done that. What else? Well TWC offers alot. Some successful forums that have sprang from TWC offer a place where you can post curse words and porn. Well I don't mind the curse words too much as long as you are not insulting anyone but the porn really doesn't need to be on a gaming forum. There are plenty of other places to get that on the net. Now what can I offer that TWC doesn't? Well a smaller community focused on the most popular aspects of TWC. I could try that but most people that go to twc only hang out in 2 or 3 forums anyway so I'm not really offering much. All the modding tutorials I could post here are already available on TWC. You have many members on TWC that only do anything to receive rep. Well rep doesn't mean anything really but you can't convince them of that. Many people don't want to develop their mod here because they don't receive REP for posting a half assed model of unit poorly skinned in a development forum. That is why thre are not more development teams here. I have approached almost 30 team leaders that would rather post updates and ideas on TWC than work seriously on a project in a development setting. Why would they want that? Well it comes down to REP and citizenship or in other words bullshit. Most of those guys will never complete anything. If you have an idea of what would help this place survive then post it. More stuff will not do it, the right stuff could but what stuff is that?

Same with AAR's, people rush out crappy AAR's just to get rep.
If TWC got rid of citizins and rep then I reckon the quality of mods would increase because people are more willing to wait and not release a half done unit so they can get rep.
